Hughes Mushrooms

“I’m very proud to be part of the mushroom industry, but I’m even more proud of the quality produce we grow here.”

Anthony McKeever started growing white mushrooms in 1988. Rushing home from school to pick mushrooms isn’t what the average schoolboy does, but son Declan McKeever was no ordinary boy. With an obsession with mushrooms and a desire to work for himself, he started growing chestnut mushrooms on the family farm and now supplies major supermarkets with his delicious, high quality produce. Having achieved the Leaf Marque and Assured Produce accreditations, Anthony and son Declan are now working towards the Field to Fork accreditation. They currently employ a small team of ten pickers buy as they continue to gather up awards and accreditations, this is one mushroom farm that will continue to grow.
